[FR] En effet, de ces jardins originels, il ne restait rien excepté les fossés périphériques découverts derrière le château et délimitant leur périmètre.
Ils ont complètement été recréés en respectant ce qu’ils ont pu être à la Renaissance notamment grâce à un plan datant du XVIIIème siècle et aux traités d’architecture de Jacques Androuet du Cerceau sur lesquels Jacques Moulin, l’architecte en chef des Monuments Historiques chargé de la restauration du Château de Chamerolles, s’est principalement appuyé.
[EN] Having turned into wasteland after long neglect, the Renaissance garden created by Lancelot II du Lac at the end of the 16th. century has been restored to the style of the period with the help of historical documents, in particular an 18th. century drawing kept in the National Archives. The garden was complety restored between 1988 and 1992.
