Wenn sich die Türen der Augsburger Puppenkiste öffnen, schlagen auch heute noch die Herzen höher. Im Museum "die Kiste" sind seit Oktober 2001 all die berühmten Marionetten der Augsburger Puppenkiste in ihrer "natürlichen Umgebung" zu bewundern:
Kater Mikesch, Urmel, Jim Knopf, Lukas der Lokomotivführer, Kalle Wirsch, die Katze mit Hut und unzählige andere der legendären "Stars an Fäden".
Wechselnde Sonderausstellungen und Workshops runden das Programm ab. Seit der Eröffnung avancierte das Museum mit seinen über 900.000 Besuchern zum erfolgreichsten seiner Art in Europa. Tausende Familien pilgern Monat für Monat aus allen Bundesländern nach Augsburg, um sich für zwei Stunden die Dauer- und Sonderausstellung anzusehen.

Europe's most successful puppet theater museum
When the doors of the Augsburger Puppenkiste open, the hearts still beat today. Since October 2001 all the famous marionettes of the Augsburger Puppenkiste in their "natural environment" have been admired in the "kiste" museum:
Tom Ketch, Lukas the locomotive driver, Kalle Wirsch, the cat with hat and countless other of the legendary "Stars at Threads".
Changing special exhibitions and workshops complete the program. Since opening, the museum has become the most successful of its kind in Europe, with its over 900,000 visitors. Thousands of families travel from Augsburg to Augsburg every month to visit the permanent and special exhibition for two hours.
