This sculpture titled
Typewriter Eraser, Scale X was recently relocated from the Olympic Sculpture Park to the Museum of Pop Culture. It is 18 feet high, which Oldenburg made with his wife and collaborator, Coosje van Bruggen, in 1999 in an edition of four sculptures.
The Roadside America.com website reads:
This sculpture of a typewriter eraser comes from the pop generation of art. It was proposed in 1975, but not actually sculpted until 1999. Its current home is Olympic Sculpture Park, next to Elliot Avenue, just up from the waterfront. Artists: Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen. It's 19 feet, 4 inches tall, made of stainless steel and fiberglass, and painted with acrylic urethane.
