ALLA MEMORIA

Palmira (Paula) Caletti was buried in Notre-Dame Cemetery, section 40, lot 98. According to her husband's "Ottawa Journal" newspaper obituary (9 February 1967, page 46), Palmira's maiden name was Amangana.

The following text was published in "The Ottawa Citizen" newspaper.

CALETTI, Palmira (Paula) Our Matriarch Peacefully at her home in Villa Marconi on Wednesday March 25, 2009 in her 101st year. Mum goes to the arms of her loved ones who have gone before; Husband Enrico, son Dante, daughter Sonya, son Lorne and her many sisters and brothers. Paula was so proud of the family she leaves behind. Loving mother of Rosita Cassidy (late Dr Lorne) Montreal, Lorenzo (late Sonya) (Lydia) Bermuda, late Dante (Marie-Paule) Ottawa, Gino (Mary) Toronto. Adored Nona (grandmother) of Sandra (Jeff Aaron), Joanne Cassidy, and Maryanne (Mark Schram); Peter (Chris), Mike (Pam) and Angela Caletti; Mark (Cassandra), Andre (Susan) Caletti; Paul, Andy (Kim), PJ (Sondra) and Jamie Caletti. Fondly remembered by her fourteen great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Louigi Mangano (late Adele), Ottawa and Angelina Mangano, Italy. The family extends their thanks to the wonderful people at Lynwood Park Retirement Home where Mum spent seventeen years in their special care and the staff at Villa Marconi who cared for her in her last few years. A very special thanks to our own Chrissy who dedicated so much time to "The Nona's" needs and to overseeing the care givers. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Sunday March 29th, 2009 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 151 Laurier Avenue East, Ottawa on Monday March 30th, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at Notre- Dame Cemetery 455 Montreal Rd immediately following the mass. A reception will follow interment at the McGarry Family Reception Centre, 315 McLeod Street.
