Hazle Township High School was erected between 1909 - 1910 and opened February 20, 1911 The school was located at 780 N. Church St Hazleton, PA. The building remained a high school until 1966 when Hazle Township and other formed the Hazleton Area School District. The school then served as a junior high until 1976 when fire damaged the auditorium and gymnasium, which were torn down and made into a parking lot. In 1978 the school was sold to St. Joseph's Hospital for $160,000 to become a cancer treatment center. In 2012 the cancer treatment center moved to a new address. The building remains vacant.
