Pub sign for the Griffin Inn, Church End, Shustoke.
A Theakston pub, the sign outside shows an image of a griffin.
"Set in the Warwickshire countryside, around three miles, north of Coleshill, the Griffin Inn is situated on one corner of a tight bend on the B4116. It is a traditional country pub, with low timber beams, inglenook fire places and log burning stoves. There is no music or television to disturb the conversations of the customers. At the back of the pub is a conservatory (where families are welcome), an outdoor patio and a large grassy area.
Normally 10 beers are on tap. Including at least one from their own Griffin Inn brewery, which is located next door. The brewery, which was opened in 2009, is run by Michael's son Oliver, it has produced a number of beers for the pub and local beer festivals. Free of tie, the guest beers at the Griffin, range from the exotic to the familiar. Two real ciders are also normally available.
The pub offers food at lunch times only (but not Sundays), but does have pork pies for sale in the evenings. The bar also sells locally produced free range eggs, sausages, cheeses and honey.
The pub also has a very popular annual beer festival, which has around 100 beers. It usually takes place over the last weekend in June."
