First off, there are a lot of errors in the Find-A-Grave listing below; starting with the name. It has been called Stracks Church and Harmonie...never what they show. Also, this church is in Innsbrook, MO, not Wright City which is miles north of here.
"The cemetery was incorporated in 1940 by acquiring a perpetual charter from the State of Missouri. Forty acres of land donated by Mrs. M. Heddemann in 1941 so as to increase the size of the cemetery to 80 acres.
"There are Civil War soldiers from both the Union and Confederacy buried here but they died if diphtheria and not battle wounds. They are buried in an unmarked area in a mass burial and we have no idea how many of these brave young men are buried here." ~ Harmonie Church pamphlet
"Harmonie Church has a rich history and heritage. The earliest exact record was a baptism on September 3, 1843. Rev. Herman Garlicks, from Femme Osage, would ride his horse the thirteen miles to Harmonie on the upper Charrette river to Shepherd the flock of God and visit the people. Often the history of the church is linked to the ministry of one or more of its pastors. One of those pastors was Karl Strack. His influence was such that the church was commonly called by his name "Strack Church". For 40 years Harmonie flourished as a congregation under his leadership. For reasons unknown, Harmonie was closed from 1932 to 1996 to regular weekly services.
