The Baptist church in Broughty Ferry was started in November 1876 by the Gibson and Cummings families and it was on land owned by the Cummings that a church was built in 1881

The church was designed by John Murray Robertson and was constructed of sandstone with a slate roof. The building is situated east of the town centre in a conservation area only a hundred yards from the shore of the Firth of Tay and Broughty Castle.

Having gone through some difficulties over the years, the church currently has a healthy 120 members.
