From the plaque :- An 18th century town house used by the Knights of Downton, the Johnes of Croft Castle and the Earls of Powis. Lucien Bonaparte was a prisoner here in 1811.
Lucien Bonaparte, 1st Prince of Canino and Musignano, was the brother of Napoleon Bonaparte.
