"Plusieurs châteaux de la région possèdent encore un colombier comparable à celui de La Honville. Il se présente sous la forme d'une grosse tour cylindrique. Les parois intérieures sont entièrement garnies de boulins en céramique noyés dans du plâtre. Le nombre de nichoirs est proportionnel à la puissance du propriétaire. "La ferme de La Honville est tout ce qu'il reste d'un ancien château autrefois entouré d'un hameau qui, au XIIIe siècle, dépendait de Montlhéry. Au XVIe siècle, le domaine était constitué d'un manoir avec chapelle et de communs. Le joaillier parisien Alvarez en a fait l'acquisition en 1679 et l'a transformé suivant le goût de l'époque, faisant notamment installer des salons décorés de marbres. Il ne reste de ce château que le colombier et une partie de la ferme. En effet, au XIXe siècle, les « bandes noires », marchands de biens sans scrupule, l'ont démantelé pour tirer profit des matériaux." (visit link)

"La Honville farm is all that remains of an old castle once surrounded by a hamlet which in the thirteenth century depended on Montlhéry.
