Nerang railway station is one of the newer ones on the Gold Coast, and opened when the line extended south of Helensvale in 1997.

This station has an 'island' platform for two train tracks, with platform #1 for trains heading 'south' to Varsity Lakes - the line opened in 1998.
Platform #2 is for trains heading 'north' to Helensvale, Bowen Hills, Doomben and Brisbane Domestic Airport.
There is a small car park on the western side of the station, with some buses coming in there. But the main car park is on the eastern side of the station.
