This pamphlet featuring an hourglass was used in the 1950s-1960s as an advertising tool to encourage people to plan (and pre-pay for) their inevitable funerals while they were still alive. The pamphlet is behind glass in a vintage advertising display at the National Funeral Museum in Spring, Texas, north of Houston.

The advertising exhibit is located near the exhibit on the funeral of US President Abraham Lincoln.

The National Funeral Museum sounds like it may be morbid and awful, but it is really very tasteful, respectful, and well-executed. See here for more details about the museum and the exhibits: (visit link)

The museum is located off the I-45 in the far North Houston suburb of Spring. The specific address is 415 Barren Springs Drive, Houston, TX 77090-5918.
