George Adams Salmon Hatchery is a small facility at the Skokomish River, run by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The hatchery welcoms visitors and the staff did a great job answering all our questions.

In 2016, the hatchery had released 21,905 chinook salmon in the South Puget sound. When we visited in January 2017, the next generation of salmon were still very tiny parr.

When they get fed (picture below left) thousands of them create little ripple waves and the water looks like it is raining (below right).
