En 1943, au prix d'une opération risquée, un groupe de résistants d'un maquis des Cévennes réussit à libérer de leur prison douze condamnés à mort. Une fois en lieu sûr, il s'avère que, parmi les évadés, il y a un homme de trop. Tandis que les Allemands sont sur leurs traces, les chefs du maquis se demandent ce qu'il faut faire de cet inconnu.
Ce film a été tourné à Saint-Flour, dans le Cantal, pour toutes les scènes en ville, ainsi que sur le site du château d'Alleuze, et de ses environs, dans le Cantal. La fin a été filmée sur le viaduc de Garabit.
n 1943, at the cost of a risky operation, a group of resistance fighters from a Cévennes maquis succeeded in freeing twelve prisoners sentenced to death from their prison. Once in a safe place, it turns out that, among escapees, there is one man too many. While the Germans are on their trail, the leaders of the maquis are wondering what to do with this stranger.
This film was shot in Saint-Flour, Cantal, for all the scenes in town, as well as on the site of the castle of Alleuze, and its surroundings, in the Cantal. The end was filmed on the viaduct of Garabit.
