Lotsenehrung (Honoring the Pilots in German) is a monument dedicated to captain Stephan Jantzen, who served as Warnemünde's chief pilot and commander of the local maritime rescue unit from 1866 until his death in 1913.

The monument depicts Jantzen steering a rescue boat with two other recuers standing in the boat. It was created by local sculptor Reinhard Dietrich and dedicated in 1976.

The monument is located in front of the Warnemünde Lighthouse.

Stephan Jantzen was born in Warnemünde in 1827. His maritime career started at the age of 14, when he enlisted as ship's boy on the German Galleass "Argo."

At the age of 29 he received his Captain's license and served as Captain of the Barque "Johannes Keppler" (which he partially owned) from 1856 until 1866.

In 1866 he was appointed chief pilot of his hometown Warnemünde. As such, he was also captain of the local chapter of the Maritime Search and Rescue Service. In 47 years of service, Jantzen was personally responsible for the rescue of over 100 shipwrecked sailors.

Throughout his life, Jantzen received several medals from the German Emperor and from the Kings of Denmark and Sweden. A particularly difficult rescue of Danish sailors in 1873 (during which he was severely injured) earned him the Danish Gold Medal for Valor.

Jantzen died in 1913. Several German ships have been named in his honor and a street in his hometown bears his name.
