This monument to the British soldiers that landed at and liberated the village of Asnelles during World War II is located on the Normandy Coast in Asnelles, France. It includes the flags of eight Allied countries.

The following inscriptions are on the stone memorial:

Center Segment:

"A ses Glorieux Libérateurs - La commune d'Asnelles le Hamel Reconnaissante - 6 juin 1944"
[English Translation: To his Glorious liberators - The commune of Asnelles and Hamel is grateful - June 6th, 1944]

Left Segment:

"Devonshire Regiment - Royal Hampshire Regiment - Dorsetshire Regiment - 231 Infantry Brigade under command of Brigadier Sir Alexander Stanier of the 50 Northumbian Division supported by other units of the British Liberation Army were the first troop to land at Asnelles and le Hamel at 07:30 hours on D Day 6th June 1944. From here they started on their victorious advance to free many towns and villages in France, Belgium and Holland and were the first British infantry to enter Germany."

Right Segment (same as info on Left segment but in French):

"Devonshire Regiment - Royal Hampshire Regiment - Dorsethire Regiment - La 231e brigade d'infanterie sous le commandement du Général de brigade Sir Alexander Stanier de la 50e Northum brian division et d'autres unités d'appui de l'Armée britannique de libération furent les premières troupes à débarquer à Asnelles et le Hamel à 07h30 le jour du 6 juin 1944. De ce point elles commencèrent leur marche victorieuse, libérant villes et villages de France, de Belgique et de Hollande, et furent les premières unités d'infanterie britannique qui penetrèrent en Allemagne."
