This cemetery is located in Florence's San Miniato al Monte basilica. The cemetery is located on a hill known as Monte di Firenze on the south side of the Arno River. The cemetery and basilica provide excellent views of Florence.

Although the basilica is quite old (building started in 1018) the cemetery was only opened in 1848. Built by architect Niccolò Matas and then upgraded by Mariano Falcini in 1864.

The cemetery has a variety of famous graves including the family tomb of the Vespucci family, Stanislaw Paszkowski (founder of Caffè Paszkowski), former Italian Prime Minister Giovanni Spadolini and Carlo Collodi (the author of Pinocchio). The tomb of Saint Minas is inside the church itself.

The cemetery has around 200 graves.
