A smaller column monument is beside Lida's.

Lida was the first wife of Clement Newton Bassett (1842-1914). They were married on October 27, 1870 in Fort Bend County, Texas. Lida died during the birth of their first child, a baby boy who also died and is buried next to Lida in Morton Cemetery.

There are four sides inscribed on this monument: Sacred to the Memory of Lida Wife of Clem Bassett, Married Oct. 27, 1870 in her 19th year and died the 26th of Oct. Following -------- Being from the Realms Above, Formed from Beauty, Truth, and Love. ------- Farewell Lolla We Meet in Heaven ------- Jesus Loved Her
