DE: Der fast versickerte Stausee Embalse de las Peñitas befindet sich kurz hinter Betancuria und dem fruchtbaren Tal Vega de Rio Palmas. Über eine kleine schmale Straße können Sie bis zur kleinen Brücke und dem ausgetrockneten Bachbett vorfahren und danach durch das fruchtbare, palmenreiche Tal bis zur Talsperre wandern.
Aber heutzutage ist der Stausee auf Fuerteventura eher ein brauner Tümpel und ein Biotop. Trotzdem nisten dort seltene Zugvögel, Greifvögel und Wasservögel.
