This short hand-operated water pump stands outside the outdoor kitchen at the Gano House, in the Dallas Heritage Village.

It is a working water pump, used to teach modern city folks about life in pre-1910 Dallas, when if you wanted water you had to pump it or haul it yourself.

Enter the Dallas Heritage Village, and follow the signs and sidewalk to the Gano House at the rear of the grounds.


Visiting Restrictions:
The pump is located inside the Dallas Heritage Village whose hours are as follows: Sunday: Noon to 4 p.m. Monday: Closed to the public Tuesday – Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed the months of January and August
