This Improved Clipper Windmill is on display at the National Ranching Heritage Center on the campus if Texas Tech University in Lubbock TX. An interpretive sign at the windmill reads as follows:
"Improved Clipper Windmill
c. 1910
Slaughter Tower and Tank
Joe B. Matthews Water Tank
The galvanized steel wheel measures 6 feet in diameter and rises 30 feet above the ground. Used with the windmill, the tower and the wooden tank gave the rancher an integrated water supply and storage system, while the rock-wrapped tank below provided a source of water for animals on both sides of the corral fence."
