Dilhorne has a splendid Village Hall and Recreation Ground, with a fantastic playground. There is also a tennis court and a bowling club within the grounds.
This land was once the location of Dilhorne Hall, which was the ancestral home of the Buller family who were noted in the legal profession in London during the 19th Century.
In the 1960s the Coalboard passed the grounds in trust to the village, and the surrounding community. Today they are managed by a willing group of Trustees and “Friends” of Dilhorne.
The children’s playground has recently been refurbished. All the old Playground equipment was removed and new safer, more accessible apparatus with improved safety surfacing was installed.
The play area has a variety of equipment including; climbing frames, slides, swings and a zip wire. The apparatus is suitable for most ages from toddles - 12 year olds.
There are seats and a shelter with toilets and car parking is available near the given coordinates.
