Studánka se nachází vpravo od silnice mezi Sobešicemi a Útechovem na palouku U buku. Je umístená ve spodní cásti palouku. Palouk U buku je osázený exotickými drevinami, z nichž nejvzácnejší je skupina kryptomerií japonských (Cryptomeria japonica) a orechovcu (Carya alba). Studánka je pojmenovaná po Janu Doležalovi Jan Doležal (1847 – 1901) Po krátké lesnické praxi v lesích u Policky a na velkostatku v Rychmburku se ze zdravotních duvodech rozhodl plne se venovat lesnické cinnosti redaktorské a literární. Položil základy pro rozvoj ceské lesnické literatury. Založil a od roku 1872 vydával první ceské lesnický casopis Háj. Usiloval o založení ceské lesnické mistrovské školy. Památník Jana Doležala byl vybudován v roce 1933 jako lesní studánka.Projekt studánky vypracoval a stavbu rídil prof. Jozef Opletal. V horní cásti studánky je podobizna Jana Doležala. Vespod studánky je cerná žulová deska s nápisem: JAN DOLECAL 1847 – 1901 1929 Pod touhle deskou je vytesán nápis: DVOJÍ NÁPLNJE NITRO MÉ OBDIVEM A ÚCTOU, HVEZDNATÉ NEBE MNOU A MRAVNÍ ZÁKON VE MNE KANT Na pravém boku studánky je vytesán úryvek z casopisu Háje v tomto zmení: HÁJ Casopis pro lesníka, Myslivce a prítele prírody Majitel a redaktor JAN DOLEŽAL Lesník Na levém boku studánky je napsáno: HESLO HÁJE Aby pestování lesu a stromu Vubec vysokého stupne dosáhlo, treba k tomu uprímných a pro své povolání nadšených muže s všestranným náhledy: veda pak nesmí zustat výsadou jednotlivcu, nýbrž musí být prístupna všem nadaným a snaživým. Behem doby byla studánka velmi narušená. Byla provedená oprava. Pri ní bylo puvodní betonové teleso studánky obloženo mramorovými deskami. Obložení bylo provedeno v roce 1989. Silné prameny vody pod studánkou, které nemohly být využity, protože jejích hladina je pod výtokovou trubkou studánky, byly podchyceny a svedeny do nové v roce 1996 vybudované Tomeckovy studánky.
