The washer and wringer are part of a collection of household and farm memorabilia housed in a room behind the local tourist information centre. Some of the other items are butter churns and milk seperators.
Accorsding to the sign the clothes and water were placed in the tub , the lid sealed and the handle pumped up and down to wash the clothes, when the clothes were clean they were put through the wringer which was turned by hand
