The handsome local-stone Mertzon Central School was built in 1909 and is still serving students as a school today (2016).
School staff are very proud of this building, which has been seamlessly incorporated into new school buildings on either side. Blasterz got the nickel tour in Dec 2016, when the kids were out and Facilities Maintenance was working on the school, sprucing it up for the next half of the year.
