EN: A public library, where you can exchange literature for free, is also available in Remagen. This had already decided the Remagen local council some time ago and economic promoter Marc Bors declares itself on the part of the administration ready to supervise the project. In order to be able to install a weatherproof "cupboard", a cell phone had to be installed. Since there is also such an idea for a "bibliobox" in Remagen's French partner town, the plan was made to make this a joint project. In the Maisons-Laffitte a German telephone cell is to be erected, in Remagen a French telephone box. A year ago, at a joint planning meeting of the partnership committee with the board of the "friends of Remagen" was discussed and decided to procure and exchange phone cells. That was easier said than done. It was not so complicated for the French partners, as the Parisian phone boxes, located 50 km from Maisons-Laffitte, collect and dispose of the discarded Ile-de-France telephone cells. In Germany there is the corresponding place near Brandenburg, from Remagen not even just around the corner. There was great joy when, after a few researches, the business development found a business in the business park - even with a classic yellow cell, just as the French had wished for.
On Saturday, January 30th, economic promoters Marc Bors and Volker Thehos from the Remagen Town Council and the Partnership Committee met on the way to the Seine with a car from the municipal building yard, laden with the German telephone booth. After six hours of driving at the Jules Verne vocational school in Sartrouville, they were expected not only by the presidents of the "Amis de Remagen" Pasacl Lullier and Francis Milani, as well as by the councilor Marie-Alice Bels but also by the professional firefighters with a lot of discussion and concentrated muscular strength The 300 kg heavy phone cell from the car. In the vocational school, the Bibliobox is now prepared and then you will find your place on Rue de Remagen in Maisons-Laffitte. The first stage of the "Tour des Cabines téléphoniques" was thus successfully finished and so the two Remagener "Transporteure" could enjoy the traditional "Soirée Carneval-Choucroute" of the friends of Remagen.
On Mondays, the second stage of the tour to Ballainvilliers started in the south of Paris, where you could quickly find a suitable French telephone box in the pick-up area. Only 80 kg heavy, she was also loaded with only four people fast and arrived the same evening still well-kept in Remagen.
Now she is dressed as a bookcase by the municipal building yard. The Remagen Local Council will decide the location at its next meeting. The Protestant library has agreed to take care of the project, so it will soon be possible in Remagen to exchange Lesestoff for free.
