DE: Einen öffentlichen Bücherschrank, in dem man kostenlos Literatur tauschen kann, den soll es auch in Remagen geben. Das hatte schon vor einiger Zeit der Remagener Ortsbeirat beschlossen und Wirtschaftsförderer Marc Bors erkläre sich seitens der Verwaltung bereit, das Projekt zu betreuen. Um einen wetterfesten „Schrank“ installieren zu können musste also eine Telefonzelle her. Da es in Remagens französischer Partnerstadt auch eine solche Idee für eine „Bibliobox“ gibt, entstand der Plan, dies zu einem gemeinsamen Projekt zu machen. Im Maisons-Laffitte soll eine deutsche Telefonzelle aufgestellt werden, in Remagen eine französische. Vor einem Jahr, bei einem gemeinsamen Planungstreffen des Partnerschaftsausschusses mit dem Vorstand der „Freunde von Remagen“ wurde also besprochen und beschlossen, Telefonzellen zu besorgen und zu tauschen. Das war erst mal leichter gesagt als getan. Für die französischen Partner war es nicht ganz so kompliziert, denn südlich von Paris, 50 km von Maisons-Laffitte entfernt, werden die ausrangierten Telefonzellen der Ile-de-France zentral gesammelt und entsorgt. In Deutschland befindet sich der entsprechende Platz in der Nähe von Brandenburg, von Remagen aus nicht mal gerade um die Ecke. Da war die Freude groß, als die Wirtschaftsförderung nach einigen Recherchen auf dem Gelände einer Firma im Gewerbepark fündig wurde - und das sogar noch mit einer klassischen gelben Zelle, so wie die Franzosen sie sich gewünscht hatten.
Am Samstag, dem 30. Januar, machten sich Wirtschaftsförderer Marc Bors und Volker Thehos vom Ortsbeirat Remagen und dem Partnerschaftsausschuss mit einem Wagen des städtischen Bauhofes, beladen mit der deutschen Telefonzelle, auf dem Weg an die Seine. Dort wurden sie nach 6 Stunden Fahrt in der Berufsschule Jules Verne in Sartrouville nicht nur von den Vorsitzenden der „Amis de Remagen“ Pasacl Lullier und Francis Milani sowie Stadträtin Marie-Alice Bels sondern auch von angehenden Berufsfeuerwehrmännern erwartet, die mit viel Diskussion und geballter Muskelkraft die 300 kg schwere Telefonzelle aus dem Wagen hieften. In der Berufsschule wird die Bibliobox nun hergerichtet, um dann Ihren Platz an der Rue de Remagen in Maisons-Laffitte zu finden. Die erste Etappe der „Tour des Cabines téléphoniques“ war also erfolgreich beendet und so konnten die beiden Remagener „Transporteure“ abends entspannt den traditionellen „Soirée Carneval-Choucroute“ der Freunde von Remagen genießen.
Montags früh startete man dann zur zweiten Etappe der Tour nach Ballainvilliers in den Süden von Paris, wo man auf dem Sammelplatz schnell mit einer passenden französischen Telefonzelle fündig wurde. Nur 80 kg schwer, war sie auch mit nur vier Leuten schnell verladen und traf am gleichen Abend noch wohlbehalten in Remagen ein.
Nun wird sie vom städtischen Bauhof als Bücherschrank hergerichtet. Der Ortsbeirat Remagen wird auf seiner nächsten Sitzung den Standort beschließen. Die evangelische Bücherei hat sich bereit erklärt, das Projekt zu betreuen und so wird es dann bald auch in Remagen die Möglichkeit geben, kostenlos Lesestoff zu tauschen.
