The Anglican church building dates from the 1860s. There are surviving burial monuments from that time. The building is a provincial heritage structure. The cemetery is active and somehow continues to have room available for more burials.

One of the earliest marriages in the church involved the couple below. Richard Cole married Mahala Pye, 27 December 1860. The witnesses to the marriage were Elias Cole and Jane Pye.
