In Marshfield, at the Marshfield Hills Cemetery, is this display of a bell, with a historical marker nearby.

To get to the cemetery, from Mass. Route 3A, turn right onto Old Main Street, and go a short distance to the cemetery on the right. The bell is located on the near side of the cemetery, not far from a U.S. Civil War monument.

The bell is cast bronze, set on an iron yoke, which is mounted on granite posts.

The bell has the following on it: "Cast by Wm. Blake ... & Co. Boston, AD 1869."

There is a monument on the ground, with the following engraved in the granite:

"Bell hung in belfry of Second Church of Marshfield that stood here 1738-1977. Cast by William Blake Co. Boston acquired 1869. Gift of Rev. George Leonard, Unitarian Pastor 1836 - 1861. Returned to Leonard family when church was razed 1977. Donated to the town by descendant Ellin Leonard in memory of her father, Morton E. Leonard, Chief of Marshfield Fire Department 1945-1965
