Das Amtshaus des 17. Bezirks entstand zwischen 1882 und 1883 nach Plänen des Architekten und Baumeisters Johann Gschwandner (1827–1920). Bei dem Gebäude handelt es sich um eine mächtige Vierflügelanlage mit Ecktürmen, wobei das Dekor und der Dachaufbau infolge von Kriegsschäden heute stark reduziert sind.
