From the local newspaper, the "Coffs Coast Advocate" article in 2015: (visit link) After the racecourse had had to be closed when Coffs Harbour in general suffered from flooding with heavy rainfalls, it was decided to close the horse racing track so as to improve drainage of the course. $500,000 was allocated and while it was originally expected to be completed by March, 2015, due to more rain, they were finally completed in June. CEO Russ Atkinson said: "The impact of the drainage system will be enormous with rain that would normally see a meeting called off able to drain away and allow us to conduct meetings."

From: (visit link) The race course 'handles' races of 800m, 1,000m, 1,200m, 1,300m, 1,400m, 1,500m, and 1,600m before having to 'lap', with longer races of 1,900m and 2,300m.

From talking to a local, the race course was opened in the 1920's, and spasmodically held races until the early 1960's when 'regular' (monthly) races started to be held.
