The Catala Alto Fondale Cruise Port is is used for turnaround cruises docking in Livorno. Since the cruise port is surrounded by an industrial area which is used by container ships, you cannot walk into the city center. Instead you must take a shuttle bus provided by the cruise line which takes you to the Piazza Grande near the center of Livorno where you an obtain train tickets to Pisa and Florence. If you are taking a shore excursion sponsored by the cruise line the buses will meet you at the dock.
