A Confederate veteran, Henry F. Bone was a traveling minister who preached in both Texas and Tennessee. He helped to found this church in 1885, just west of here, and he preached at the church in 1891. At some point, he relocated to Indiana, where he died in 1917, but he was buried at historic Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, not too far away.
