More than 1500 years of village history show the ever changing history of this quaint village in the middle Rhine area, which belongs to Unkel's community of villages.

The cobbled market place under the old sycamore tree, beautiful baroque city hall, the village church St. Severinus and its picturesque church square, spanned by a mighty red beech, well maintained tutor style homes from 4 centuries, remains of the old city wall with the well preserved gate tower and Frohnbogen, which opens the path through the Frohnhof towards the Rhine.

Numerous tutor style houses can be found within the half circular city wall. A sequence of frugal houses tells the story of the village character of the community.
