In Amherst, within the Amherst College campus, is this moving sculpture in front of the college's Mead Art Museum.

Amherst College is located in the center of town, southeast of the town common. The Mead Art Museum is on campus. There is a road from Route 9 that runs east of the quad area. Parking is along the road.

The sculpture is on the west side of the art building and near a tall stone steeple. The sculpture is on a concrete base with a plaque on it. The words are as follows:

"George Ricke (1907-2002)
American

Two Lines Oblique Down,
Variation III
Stainless steel, 1969-1973

Gift of Bertram H. Bloch (Class of 1933) and the Burlington Industries Foundation
1974.13"

From the post a single tower rises. At the top are two beams that, at the ends are two more beams that move.
