This is a Memorial of the German unity placed in memorial of the uprising on 17th June 1953 in former German Democratic Republic.

This memorial was build in memory of the uprising on 17th of June 1953 in former German Democratic Republic.
The memorial consits of a cuboid which is split in three parts symbolizing the three parts of Germany: Eastern parts (now in Poland and Russia), middle part (the five new counties from former GDR after Re-Union 1990) and the western part of GER.
On one Side there is a writing saying "Germany is indivisble" (DEUT / SCH / LAND // IST UN / TEIL / BAR). The names of these former eastern and middle-German cities are listed:
Königsberg, Allenstein, Marienburg, Tilsit, Danzig, Marienwerder, Elbing, Lötzen, Insterburg, Trakehnen, Waldenburg, Schneidemühl, Stettin, Stolp, Landsberg/W, Kolberg, Glatz, Breslau, Ratibor, Küstrin, Beuthen, Glogau, Gleiwitz, Neisse, Oppeln, Hirschberg, Liegnitz, Sagan, Tannenberg, Görlitz, Köslin, Rügenwalde, Eichenlaub,
Dresden, Jena, Leipzig, Guben, Chemnitz, Dessau, Stralsund, Wittenberg, Schwerin, Halle, Potsdam, Weimar, Rostock, Frankfurt (Oder), Eisenach, Eisleben, Erfurt, Magdeburg

After the German reunion there was critics upon this memorial as there were also names of cities listed that now belong to Poland and Russia and are under international law to be accepted to be no longer belonging to Germany.
Therefore a Stela was placed to remember that this memorial was build in remembrance of the uprising on 17th June 1953 in GDR.
