Depending on which website you head to for information on the Girrakool Nature Trails in the Brisbane Water National Park at Somersby, you may expect to take from 40 minutes to an hour to enjoy the 1.4 km to 2 km loop walk from the Girrakool picnic area.
"Tom" Thomas Lancelot Lewis (b. 1922 - d. 2016) was a politician, and Premier of NSW. He was born in Adelaide (S.A.) and before entering politics was the "Director-General of Munitions" during World War Two (also from Wikipedia - he had risen to the rank of Lieutenant in the Australian Army). In 1957 he was elected to represent the Wollondilly electorate. In 1965 he was assigned the Lands and Mines portfolio, where he became responsible for setting up the NPWS (National Parks and Wildlife Service) of NSW in 1967. (Wikipedia)
