Die Severikirche ist ein Kirchenbau der römisch-katholischen Kirche in Erfurt. Sie steht auf dem Domberg unmittelbar neben dem Erfurter Dom. Als einzigartiges architektonisches Ensemble bilden sie gemeinsam das Wahrzeichen der Stadt. Aufgrund ihrer ungewöhnlichen Bauform, die die spätgotische Hallenkirche vorwegzunehmen scheint, gehört die Severikirche zu den bedeutendsten gotischen Bauten in Deutschland. In einem künstlerisch sehr bedeutenden Sarkophag ruhen die Gebeine des Kirchenpatrons Severus von Ravenna.
The Severikirche is a church building of the Roman Catholic Church in Erfurt. It stands on the Domberg next to Erfurt Cathedral. As a unique architectural ensemble they form the landmark of the city. The Severikirche is one of the most important Gothic buildings in Germany due to its unusual form, which seems to be anticipated by the Late Gothic hall church. In an artistically very important sarcophagus the bones of the church patron Severus of Ravenna rest.
