Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung der Kapelle stammt aus dem Jahr 1224. Es wird vermutet, dass die Kapelle einst zu dem 992 auf dem Wittekindsberg gegründeten Kloster gehörte, welches jedoch bereits im Jahr 1000 nach Minden verlegt wurde.
Die Kapelle ist ein 16m langer und 9,5m breiter zweijöchiger, rechteckiger Saalbau im Stil der Romanik ohne Apsis. Die Fenster der Kappel sind einteilig und rundbogig. Bedeckt wird die Kapelle von einem Satteldach.

The first documentary mention of the chapel dates back to 1224. Maybe the chapel belonged to a monastery, founded on the Wittekindsberg in 992, which was moved to Minden in the year 1000.
The chapel is a 16m long and 9,5m wide rectangular hall building in the style of Romanesque without apse. The windows of the Kappel are one-piece and round-arched. The chapel is covered by a gable roof.
