Denison Dam, also known as Lake Texoma Dam, is a dam located on the Red River between Texas and Oklahoma that impounds Lake Texoma.
The Denison Dam, which was built during World War II by German prisoners of war housed in Oklahoma and Texas, was finished in 1944. At that time it was the largest earth-filled dam in America. It eventually lost that status but it serves as flood control as well as a hydro-electric power generator, and a great place to fish.
