The Artist:
Friedrich Bernhard Werner (born 28 January 1690 in Kamenz in Niederschlesien, in other sources in Frankenstein and / or Reichenau (district of Kamenz), died 20 April 1776 in Breslau) was a German drawing artist and engraver.
The Place:
The Church of Saint Ursula great example of early 18th century Baroque architecture. The church of Marc Antonio Canevalle was completed in 1704 (as the church for the attached Ursuline convent) and is unique in that the nave is parallel to the street, rather than perpendicular. The original sculptures of 1672 still decorate the facade of this Baroque church. Statues featuring St John Nepomuk (1747) are in front.
