The oldest graphic depiction of Prague is a xylograph in the schedel Chronicle, published in Nuremberg in 1493; some experts assign the work to the young Albrecht Dürer. Filip van den Bossche, Václav Hollar (1607-1677), Vincenc Morstadt (1802-1875), Samuel Prout and others rank among further well-known artists recording the appearance of old Prague.

Jedním z historických domu Malostranského námestí je i dum U Zlatého hroznu cp. 267, který tvorí nároží tohoto námestí a Karmelitské ulice, kam je také obrácen svým delším, východním prucelím. To zasahuje až k vedlejšímu domu cp. 516, s kterým dnes, a bylo tomu tak i mnohdy v minulosti, tvorí jeden, i když nesourodý stavební celek.
Pozice domu U Zlatého hroznu cp. 267 a cp. 516 se vzhledem ke svému okolí zmenila pomerne dramaticky v roce 1896. To malostranská radnice dala svuj souhlas k závažnému urbanistickému zásahu, který nechvalne vešel do pragensistické literatury pod heslem „Prulom U Klícu“ dle názvu nárožního domu. Byly zboreny historické domy cp. 269 a 270 v jižní strane dolního Malostranského námestí a cp. 298 v ulici Karmelitské. Následne byl ješte v roce 1904 asanován rohový památný patricijský dum cp. 268, rovnež v Karmelitské ulici.
Po roce 1991 byly domy po statické stránce sanovány, zrízeny byly nové inženýrské síte. Došlo i na instalování a kompletní rekonstrukci renesancního i rane barokního záklopkového stropu. Ty v té dobe byly již od predchozí rekonstrukce uloženy ve skladišti mimo Prahu a jejich další osud byl nejistý. Vedle mnoha dalších prací byly renovovány kamenné prvky fasády, osazena schodište a obnoveny mozaikové chodníky pred objektem. V neposlední rade bylo provedeno zlacení a polychromie trí kusu medailonu na fasáde domu cp. 267 a taktéž domovního znamení, zlatého hroznu umísteného na nároží. Vskutku nevšední pozornost byla venována vybavení domovního interiéru.
