In Plattsburgh, within Champlain Park, is a gazebo with a plaque that bears the mark of the Rotary Club.
The park is located off Cumberland Avenue, about a quarter mile east of the Plattsburgh City Hall.
The gazebo is located to the south of the Champlain Monument, and is easy to see from that location. The monument is located near the gazebo, in the walkway. The plaque is a granite slab about at walkway level. it is surrounded by red brick and then a boundary.
The face of the central stone has the following:
"This gazebo was designed and built by the Plattsburgh AM Rotary Club
[Rotary logo]
October 1993"
The gazebo is a wooden structure with benches where you can take in the view of the park and the bay to the southeast.
I believe that the AM Rotary Club is still meeting - now called Sunrise Rotary. The web site is here:
