[FR] L’inauguration officielle a lieu le 22 janvier 1995.
Le Pont de Normandie est ouvert à la circulation le 26 janvier 1995.
1988 : Travaux préparatoires.
Pose d’un tapis géotextile sur les vasières, sur lequel une tonne de sable est déposée, pour éviter une dislocation du remblais.
Construction d’une estacade provisoire.
Construction de l’îlot de protection pylône nord.
Mars 1991 : Fondation en cours et construction des premières piles des viaducs d’accès.
Décembre 1991 : Début de construction des pylônes.
Printemps 1992 : Construction voussoirs des viaducs d’accès.
Octobre 1992 : Les deux jambes des pylônes se rejoignent.
Février / Septembre 1993 : Réalisation de la partie béton de la chaussée.
Octobre 1993 : Début de construction de la partie centrale du tablier (partie métallique). Chaque voussoir est amené par voie fluviale. Il est ensuite hissé grâce à une chèvre de levage située au bord du tablier déjà construit avant d’être raccordé au précédent voussoir par soudage.
Eté 1994 : Jonction des voussoirs assemblés à partir des deux rives du pont permettant le premier franchissement à pieds.
22 janvier 1995 : inauguration officielle
Montant des travaux : coût total de l’opération de 419 millions d’euros financé partiellement par un emprunt de 386 millions d’euros.

October 1992: The two legs of the pylons meet.
February / September 1993: Realization of the concrete part of the pavement.
October 1993: Start of construction of the central part of the deck (metal part). Each voussoir is brought by river. It is then hoisted thanks to a lifting goat located at the edge of the apron already built before being connected to the previous voussoir by welding.
Summer 1994: Junction of the voussoirs assembled from both sides of the bridge allowing the first crossing on foot.
22 January 1995: official inauguration
Amount of work: total cost of the operation of 419 million euro partially financed by a loan of 386 million euros.
