This trig point lies on a low hill 50 metres high, some three and a half miles from the North Sea coast of Scotland. It sits on the highest point of the golf course at Drumoig Hotel which was laid out in the 1990s.
STEEPNESS: At only 50 metres above sea level there is not much climbing involved to reach it.
TERRAIN: The area around the pillar is of quite long grass with a few nettles as well.
ACCESSIBILITY: Quite difficult unless during quiet times on the golf course, although the hill sits just north of the B945 St.Michaels to Tayport road.
NAVIGATION: Surprisingly hard, the pillar can`t be spotted from any great distance away and it only comes into view once you are within a few yards of it. it sits right on top of the rock face of an old quarry which houses the 5th and 13th greens, the easiest route is from the rear of the 15th tee.
DANGER: Nothing, except the nearby rock face which lies well off to the north.
