There are famous examples of serpents, like the Loch Ness monster. Lake Champlain and the Chesapeake bay also have their mythical serpents. Ancient greek myths included serpents, sometimes being fed maidens as a sacrifice (Cassiopeia).

"Accounts differ as to whether Poseidon decided to flood the whole country or direct the sea monster Cetus to destroy it. In either case, trying to save their kingdom, Cepheus and Cassiopeia consulted a wise oracle, who told them that the only way to appease the sea gods was to sacrifice their daughter."

This serpent is coming out of the ground, looking like a serpent in a lake.

The Story Garden is the outdoor space at the Discovery Center, a Children's museum. They have created a whimsical garden with many gardens with different themes. Many artists have contributed.
