Steve MacLean Park is located in the former City of Nepean, now part of Greater Ottawa. It is accessible from Deer Park Drive, off either Fisher Ave or Meadowlands Drive.
The park, originally called Long Park, was renamed in honour of Steve MacLean, one of Canada's pioneer astronauts, who grew up in this area. It was dedicated in September, 2000.
He made two trips into space, on space shuttles Columbia and Atlantis. He was the president of the Canadian Space Agency from 2008 til 2013.
The park features a wide greens expanse, playground equipment, basketball courts and access to the Deer Park tennis courts.
