Hotel Royal er Aarhus' ældste hotel. Det blev bygget i 1838 af Niels Larsen fra Odense. Han slog det daværende "Kongens Gård" sammen med naboejendommen i Rosengade.
Siden da er hotellet blevet restaureret og fornyet talrige gange, men fremstår stadig i klassisk stil.
I 70'erne var hotellet tæt på at lukke, men det blev afværget da man i en periode drev biograf, diskotek og jazzspillested.
I 1991 åbnede Royal Casino i hotellets bygning.

Hotellet har en meget central placering i Aarhus med blandt andet domkirken og Aarhus Teater i umiddelbar nærhed.

Hotel Royal is the oldest hotel in Aarhus. It was built in 1838 by Niels Larsen from Odense. He connected the former "Kongens gård" with the neighbour buildig in Rosengade street. Since then the hotel has been restores numerous times, but today it still has a classic look.
During the seventies the hotels was very close to close down, bt it was prevented when the hotel for a period run a cinema, disco and a jazz club. In 1991 Royal Casino opened in the hotel.

The hotel has a very central location in Aarhus with for example the cathedral and Aarhus Theater in close proximity.
