"Miss Hannah Belle Raney, 101 years of age, died at the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital early Saturday morning, March 15, 1969, where she had been a patient since the preceding week.
Miss Raney was one of, if not the oldest, citizens of Lincoln County.
She enjoyed good health until just a short time before entering the hospital.
She was born north of Troy, Jan. 23, 1868, the daughter of Felix and Hannah Morris Raney. She was the youngest of 13 children, and the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She lived in Briscoe most of her life, where she was recognized as an exceptionally fine seamstress.
Fifteen years ago, she moved to Troy and lived with a niece, Mrs. W. F. Rinaman.
For the past two years she had been living in the William Henderson home of Troy.
Funeral services for "Aunt Belle" as she was affectionately known, were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Old Alexandria Methodist Church, of which she was a member. The ministers were Rev. Ted G. Matkin and Rev. Joseph Todd.
Interment was in the Old Alexandria Cemetery." ~ Obituary from Find-A-Grave listing
