"1859-1869 Expansion of the towers and completion of the tower helmets
2005 The reconstruction work of the tower helmets has been completed so that now both towers can be admired without scaffolding. According to the Dombauhütte, this will remain so for the next decades.
Height of towers from base 105 m

The bell of the cathedral consists of a total of six bells and is one of the most toned in Bavaria. The old women's bell hangs in the southern tower bell chamber and can only be routed from there by rope. In the Dachreiter is a small bell, which is only rung at Whitsun. The full bell of the six large bells is reserved for the high festivals, on Sundays the Grand Princess is missing. The angelus bell sounds as a result of the Angelus rushing (at 12 noon, for example). The bells of the individual bells are different: the three large bells ring on straight steel yokes with an overweight and counterweight, bell 5 on the cranked steel yoke and bells 4 and 6 on the straight steel yoke, the latter additionally having a counterweight bobbin. All the bell-chairs are made of wood. "
